Four months have passed since my last post and four grueling months they were indeed. As member of the task force handling the pandemic crisis at the company I work for, there was always more than plenty to do during last year aside from my regular tasks. While things were a little better during the summer, the pace picked up again these last four months. I was so exhausted that most evenings I only powered up my PS4 to binge-watch a number of excellent tv series like Ripper Street, Dexter, The Mentalist, The Killing, This Is Us and The Expanse.
Best and worst of 2020
While there were only few new games I played in 2020, such as The Last Of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima, I decided to give the Assassin’s Creed franchise another try by diving into Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. If you want to find out how that went, I will upload a post shortly.
While The Last Of Us Part II certainly did not disappoint, as expected, my game of the year was the gorgeous Ghost of Tsushima. I loved everything about it. The characters, the story, the setting, the music, all of it. Apart from those two, I played two older games, namely God of War and Uncharted 4. Truth be told, I did not expect much of either game, but, boy was I in for a ride! God of War featured an amazing story, world and characters, while Uncharted 4 was pure action adventure gold!

The biggest disappointment, then, was STAR WARS Jedi: The Fallen Order. What an incredible waste of money. The only good thing about it was the soundtrack and that is saying something. I hear there is another game in the making. Better luck with that one. And apparently another studio.

What games are next on my list
I have already started playing CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 and I actually love it so far. Next up there is HITMAN III, of course. Also, Frogwares anounced a new Sherlock Holmes game and I am not missing that one either.
Apart from that I really have some catching up to do on what is lined up for release this year. As you can tell, gaming has not been my top priority these past few months.
Nevertheless, I am happy to be back and extremely happy you all made 2020 the most succesful year for my blog, finally surpassing the magic number of 50.000 clicks. I won’t deny that this was thanks to the pandemic and people being stuck at home with spare time on their hands. nevertheless, thank you, thank you thank you!
I hope I will be able to post a bit more frequently this year, but since the pandemic is ongoing, we shall have to find out if I can. Please stay safe and healthy.
Until then, keep on playing!
Cheers
Vanessa
